Star Tours 2 Destinations

What will be the new Star Tours 2 destinations? We knew already that the Starspeeder 1000 will go at Tatooine to participate in the Boonta Eve Podrace - picture below - and also to Coruscant - picture above.

And, according to WDI Imagineer Tom Fitzgerald "Additional destinations include a visit to the beautiful planet of Naboo, a rare tour of the Wookiee planet of Kashyyyk, and a trip to the icy planet Hoth. Of course, no Star Tours adventure would be complete without an unexpected visit to the Death Star, this time above the planet Geonosis".

The Geonosis scene is the one painted on the rendering showing the Starspeeder being chased by Boba Fett vessel with in the background the first Death Star under construction.

Tom released last saturday this "spaceport" screenshot showing the new destinations.

Some weeks ago this Star Tours queue video was also released showing some of the Starspeeder 1000 destinations.

Star Tours 2 open in a bit more than two months at DHS and it's going to be a very exciting moment!

Tokyo Disneyland Star Tours

Here is a Randie Soul pictorial report of Tokyo Disneyland. We will have a look to TDL Tomorrowland, and more precisely Star Tours. All pictures are in hyper high-res and almost all of them would make great wallpaper for your computer. As always, double-click on each to enjoy them in big size!

Below, the entrance of Tomorrowland...

...with Space Mountain in the background.

Around the Star Tours entrance...

TDL Star Tours pre-show is probably the biggest of all.

What is great at TDL is the park's maintenance. The attraction looks as new as it was on opening day.

And what a great lighting!

Finally, the hall when you exit the Star Speeders.

Disneyland Paris Star Tours

Hopefully in the future the new Star Tours 2 will come to Disneyland Paris. In the meantime, let's have a special tribute to the current version that guests can ride at Discoveryland.

The picture on the top is a Star Tours entrance concept by Eric Robison, never realised. We know that a big X Wing fighter stands at the entrance, but did you know that Imagineers once envisioned to have instead a big AT & AT snow walker?

Or even a Millenium Falcon as you can see on this painting by Tim Delaney who did also the one above. Was it Space Mountain behind, with a Death Star design?

These two rare pictures show the making at a WDI facility of the X Wing fighter, standing now at the entrance of the attraction.

This next painting by Tim Delaney is famous, but you'll find it here in a very good quality.

Talking about pre-show, here is a great picture of C3PO...

...and of Admiral Ackbar...

..and of the little robots located in the Droids room.

Two others elements of the decor, including the Starspeeder 3000 plan.

The next picture is a high-res version of a well known image showing the Starspeeder in the final battle of the ride movie.

Let's end with a gift with this high-res pic of the Starspeeder Service poster!

Star Tours Behind the Scenes

Did you ever wanted to know how it looks like outside of the Starspeeder simulator while you are comfortably sit inside?

This youtube video filmed at Disneyland Paris Star Tours attraction will give you a rare glimpse of the Star Speeder moving, view from outside.

Those of you who were at Disneyland's Star Tours opening still remember the excitement of that special day. And those who were not - like me - will be pleased to discover the great opening ceremony on these two videos below.

As it is often the case Tokyo Disneyland have an improved version of the attraction. The ride is still the same, but there is a post-show audio-animatronic that i will be pleased to have in Paris version. To avoid you a flight to Tokyo to see it, here is a video of that scene.

Many thanks for the youtube links

Star Wars week-ends Posters

Here is a topic about the great Star Wars Week-ends posters. As in the previous years WDW did posters for the Star Wars week-ends i had the idea to find all of them for this article. The new one are just as fun as the old one - done on an "airport" theme - as you will see.

While we are talking about posters here are others done by free-lance artists, not related to the week-ends but interesting, graphically speaking.

I am sure you will instantly recognize where the artist who did the next one took his inspiration...

I like also the simplicity of that one, done for Episode 1.
